(Webinar) How to put citizens at the heart of your policy
February 13 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
57% of people want to be involved in local decision-making. But only 26% of people feel like they can influence these local decisions. How can public servants foster more effective engagement with citizens?
Citizen engagement can give those working in government a better understanding of the problems they face, a sense of citizens’ priorities and result in more public support for effective implementation. But knowing how and when to engage citizens can be tricky.
During this workshop, you’ll learn:
- Hacks for lowering the barriers to citizen engagement
- Key ingredients to successful co-design
- How to use technology to leverage citizens’ expertise
Who you’ll hear from:
In this online workshop hosted by apolitical, you will hear from Noreen Blanluet, the director of the Co-Production Network for Wales, an inclusive, member-led network of doers and thinkers who inspire and empower one another to bring positive change to public services and communities.
You’ll also hear from Niamh Webster, Digital Engagement Manager at the Scottish Government. Niamh advises policymakers on democratic engagement for meaningful participation.
This workshop is part of the Fire Starter Festival celebrating creativity and innovation in public services.
