‘The People’s Platform’ Involvement Tool Workshops | Future Generations Commissioner

January 31 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Details sent from the Office of the Future Generations Commission for Wales. For more details on the event, please contact [email protected]

As you may know, last year the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales held a conversation with stakeholders to inform her policy priorities for her term of office, where we trialled, amongst other things, the SenseMaker involvement tool to collect stories and views.

We have been developing our plans for how people and communities can continue to be involved in our work and to this end, would like to invite you to take part in an involvement workshop. The purpose of the workshop will be to share a new involvement tool amongst others, called ‘The People’s Platform’.  Based on SenseMaker, this will allow citizens the opportunity to influence policy and for organisations and public bodies to better understand the communities they serve.

We are very keen to share how this tool can be used by you and how its data can be shared across organisations.

We are looking for organisations to collaborate with, who can use this tool to help us involve communities and citizens across Wales.

There are two opportunities for you to come along:

Friday,18th January at Glyndwr University –  10:30 – 12:30 (Lunch provided) (15 Spaces Available)

Thursday 31st January at Cardiff University Students’ Union – 10:00 – 12:00 (No Lunch provided) (10 Spaces Available)

The workshops are open to organisations from the third and public sector.  You may be a development officer, youth officer, participation office, PSB co-ordinator, charity director, someone working in engagement and communications or someone with an interest in one of the following areas:

  •  Housing
  • Social Prescribing
  • Skills & Education
  • Planning, Transport
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences

We’d also be interested in hearing your general thoughts and experience on involvement and what we can collectively do to ensure citizens voices are listened to and acted upon.   Whoever you are, if you are in contact with citizens, we really encourage you to come along.

If you would be interested in joining us on any of the above dates, please email [email protected]futuregenerations.wales and indicate which of the workshops you would like to attend.
