We are still a young organisation: we were officially registered in May 2019. We built on early co-production work and we are confident in our capabilities and delivery; now we are established and financially sustainable, it is time for us to consolidate our governance and processes. We want to strengthen and extend our board to help us grow and take our next steps.
Our aims are:
- to grow good practice across sectors and across Wales,
- to support policy and decision makers to shape a positive context for this work, and
- to effect positive change in our public services and communities.
Our board of non-executive directors plays a vital role by:
- exercising oversight over the company’s legal obligations;
- ensuring that we carry out our functions in accordance with our constitution;
- ensuring we are financially rigorous and sustainable, and managing risks;
- upholding our values and high standards;
- making sure we are socially and environmentally responsible;
- keeping focused on our mission and objectives;
- supporting our strategic development;
- driving development, growth and learning, and improvement; and
- supporting the executive co-directors in the exercise of the above.
Board member posts require a commitment of 3 – 4 days per year (6 – 8 for the chair). The term is three years, renewable. The role is unpaid on a voluntary basis, with expenses reimbursed (including care costs).
